Bellevue - Community Profile and Home Search
Bellevue is located on 31 square miles of rolling landscape between Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish and is the perfect place to find spectacular scenic views. To the North you will find majestic Mount Baker, while to the South, Mount Rainier dominates the horizon. To the East are views of the snow-capped Cascade Mountain range, and to the West lie the Olympic Mountains. Eastside neighbors include Yarrow Point, Clyde Hill, Hunts Point, Beaux Arts, Enatai, Medina, Kirkland, Bothell, Newcastle, Redmond, Issaquah, Woodinville and Sammamish. And nearby Seattle is accessible by two floating highway bridges across Lake Washington. Some of Bellevue's favorite neighborhoods are in the rolling treed hills of east Bellevue and the close-to-shopping neighborhoods of west Bellevue. Closer to I-90 on the south side are the spectacular view neighborhoods of Somerset and Lakemont, and the easy-commute neighborhoods of Newport Hills and Newport Shores.

Bellevue has earned its reputation as a nearly ideal city by managing well-planned urban and suburban growth over the past 50 years. Its spectacular Bellevue Square shopping mall offers a wide array of high-end stores and great restaurants. In spite of a higher regional cost index than the national average, Bellevue remains an affordable place to live, with good jobs at its many big companies like Microsoft, Expedia, Paccar, and T-Mobile contributing to its high median family income. It is a microcosm of the best of the best that people look for in a place to live and work.
